I am so thankful for the long weekend.  Last week was ridiculously busy and next week won't be much better so it's nice to recuperate a bit.  I want to get some reading done this weekend but have been spending a lot of time watching CNN because of the UCSB shootings.  The events that took place on Friday night were horrific and because that's my hometown and my college, it hits close to home.

    We are in CA too and so saddened about the shootings. It hit my kid particularly hard.

    Glad you're able to rest and relax this weekend. Hope your new pretty books are enjoyable!

    I had no idea Jennifer Weiner had a new book out, especially since I've yet to read her last one. I guess that's a sign I need to get to it now!

    And I too have a copy of The Summer Queen. I actually won it a few months ago and have yet to read it, but eventually, right?

    What an awful tragedy at UCSB. I hope and pray no one you know has been effected, but what a horrible loss for those poor families.

    On a lighter note, I just added All Fall Down to my GoodReads list. The cover on The Summer Queen is beautiful. Hope you enjoy both.

Mailbox Monday (49)

It's time for another Mailbox Monday post!  Once again I could not resist the cheap ebooks that Amazon and Barnes and Noble were promoting this week.  I really need to stop!  I already have more than I can read.  I also was able to spend a little time browsing at the library and I came home with a nice stack of books.  These days, I hardly ever get to spend time at the library by myself for more than a minute or two so it was wonderful to have time to just wander and see what I could find.
