Mailbox Monday (80)

Good morning y'all! Today I'm linking up with Mailbox Monday for the first time in ages.  I've neglected this blog a lot in recent months mainly because life has just kind of exploded.  We went on an amazing trip to Germany in November and as soon as we got back, I found out I was pregnant.  I was so sick for the first few months! It was all new to me because I felt so good when I was pregnant with Julia.  During that same time, the hubs started having a lot of stomach issues and ended up having surgery in February.  So there has been  A LOT going on lately.  I'm finally feeling better and trying to read more.  I set a really low goal for the year (52 books) and so far I'm on track so that's nice.  I have still been bringing new book babies into my house but I think that's going to slow down here really quick.  I've been taking advantage of the kindle sales and need to read what I have for a while. Here is some of what I got this w...

Mailbox Monday (80)

Time for another Mailbox Monday post!  I hope everyone had a great Halloween!  My daughter had a blast and even though it was freezing, we did a lot of trick or treating.  After Halloween, I swear the week flew by and now we're having a super relaxing weekend.  The weather is pretty chilly so it's nice to curl up inside with a book or a movie. I'm so excited about the books I got this week.  For Review: There is Always a Tomorrow by Anna Belfrage This is a new book in a one of my favorite series and I absolutely can't wait to dive into it. Purchased (for Kindle):   Christmastime Cowboy by Maisey Yates The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman   Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason A Very Merry Princess by Susan Mallery I am so excited for the holidays! I can't get enough holiday romance novels right now.  We are going to be in Germany for Thanksgiving so we are already starting to get things ready to dec...

Mailbox Monday (79)

It's Monday again and I'm linking up with Mailbox Monday today. It's a very busy Monday for me as it's time for university students to start enrolling.  My job is to help them pick the right classes so things will be hectic for the next few weeks. My reading is slow.  I'm slogging through a review book right and I'm hoping I can just get it done this week and move on.  I hate not finishing books so I'm trying to put in the effort to get through it. I got a few fun books from the library this week.  I can't wait to dive in. Saving Sophie by Ronald Balson This is the only book of his I haven't read yet and I'm really looking forward to it. The Christmas Shoes by Donna VanLiere This song irritates me so much but I really enjoy this author's books so I thought I would check this one out. Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber Her Christmas books are the best! Christmas on Candy Cane Lane by Sheil...

Mailbox Monday (78)

Happy Sunday everybody!  September is over and I can hardly believe it.  It seems as though the month has flown by.  Now I'm excited for fall and all of the upcoming holidays.  October is the start of my favorite time of year and I'm hoping there will be plenty of room for reading in between all of the upcoming events. I requested some new holiday books from the library and had no idea all of my holds would come in at once so I need to get moving on these.  I'm really excited to dig into some sweet, fluffy reads and these will do just the trick. From the Library: A Snow Country Christmas by Linda Lael Miller This is the fourth book in a series that I really enjoyed so I'm eager to get started on it. Holly and Ivy by Fern Michaels The Christmas Room by Catherine Anderson I was so intrigued by the cover on this one that I had to pick it up. For Review (from NetGalley): I Was Anastasia by Ariel Lawhon   ...

Hey y'all!  This is my first Mailbox Monday in a while! It's been quite the summer so I haven't been around much but I thought I would share the books I got last week.  It's been a really relaxing weekend and I'm starting to feel like I might be able to get caught up on my reading.  I have more books than I know what do with right now! For Review:   A Crime in the Family by Sacha Batthyany  I have been wanting to read this for a while so I was very excited to see it on NetGalley. Empress of the East by Leslie Peirce  This one was a surprise but I'm looking forward to reading it.  The premise sounds fascinating. I hope you all have a great week!

Mailbox Monday (75)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I participated in Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon on Saturday and it was great!  I've been in a terrible reading funk lately but I managed to get a lot of reading in and I think I busted out of my funk.   The last week was pretty quiet; we didn't look at any houses so it was nice to just be in our normal day to day routine.  The hubs and I had a super fun date night with friends on Friday but we definitely paid for it on Saturday when Julia came home tired and grumpy from my mother-in-laws.  Oh well, I guess that's just life with a 3 year old! Finished Reading: The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova Bobbins and Boots by Shanna Hatfield Under the Approaching Dark by Anna Belfrage Currently Reading: Anne Boleyn: A King's Obsession by Alison Weir I totally blew my book buying ban again this week so here I am with another Mailbox Monday post.  I got an email from Barnes and Noble by mistake in...

Mailbox Monday (74)

I really didn't want to have another Mailbox Monday post for a long while but I caved and bought a couple of books this week.  YIKES.  I think I only made it two or three weeks without buying books.  Work continues to be busy and and the week was crazy with house hunting.  We looked at several houses and even put an offer on one but nothing came of it.  So back to the drawing board! I also started watching '13 Reasons Why' on NetFlix and then the hubs got really into it and binge watched the whole season.  I didn't see all of it but I'm pretty sure I've seen enough.  I didn't dislike it but it was pretty dark and makes me terrified of sending my daughter to school.  I think I'll just stick with getting caught up on 'This is Us'.  Because of all that, it was a really slow reading week. I'd like to finish two more books before the month is over so I better get on it! Finished Reading: A Bridge Across the Ocean by Susan Meissner Cu...

Mailbox Monday (72)

Hey y'all! Today is the last day of spring break for me and Julia so I'm having a lazy, relaxing day.  It was a much busier week than I expected so spring break flew by.  I only had to work one day this past week but I worked from home a lot and we started house hunting which was a wild ride.  I'm kind of glad to go back to work and get back into our routine.  I did manage to get caught up on a lot of reading so overall, not a bad week.   I picked up some books from the library and a few kindle deals so I'm linking up with Mailbox Monday again today. From the Library (physical books):     Forever a Hero by Linda Lael Miller Soviet Daughter: A Graphic Revolution by Julia Alekseyeva From the Library (ebook): Snowfall on Haven Point by RaeAnne Thayne I love this series and I think this one is my favorite book so far! Happy Mailbox Monday ! Today is the first day of Spring Break for me...yay!  My daughter's daycare is closed all week so I'm only working on Tuesday.  I have to work from home a little bit but for the most part, I get a break.  I'm looking forward to sleeping and getting caught up on my reading.  Goodreads keeps telling me that I'm behind on my reading goal so I'm hoping this week will help. I won an Amazon gift card in a raffle so I've been stocking up on ebooks this week.  Because I totally need more books! Happy Mailbox Monday ! This is the last week before our spring break.  It will be a busy week but it will make it easier to get through it knowing that spring break is almost here! This past week was a slow reading week for me.  I've been reading the same book for a long time and finally finished it.  I'm hoping now I can start getting caught up on my reading again.  Goodreads says I'm two books behind schedule so I need to get on it. I picked up a few more books this week and now I"m kind of overwhelmed.  I need to stay away from NetGalley for a while. Purchased (for nook):   The Ship of Brides by JoJo Moyes   The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley   I love this book so much! I read it years ago and have been wanting to do a reread for a long time.  I couldn't resist the $1.99 price tag! For Review (from NetGalley): The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova     What books did you p...

Mailbox Monday (69)

I got way too many books this week so I am linking up with Mailbox Monday again!  I haven't had much time to read lately but I'm hoping to change that this month.  I think I have more books than I know what to do with but it doesn't hurt to have options! My daughter was sick all last week so I've been mostly cooped up with her and I'm actually glad to be back at work today!  She was pretty sick so except for trips to the doctor and Walgreens, we were pretty much home bound.  I'm glad that she's finally feeling better, it got a little scary there for a bit.   March will be busy at work but it will be fun too so I'm ready for the challenge.  Here's to a good week and month!  From the Library: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi Ebony and Ivy by Craig Steven Wilder For Review (from NetGalley):   The Bridge Across the Ocean by Susan Meissner Purchased for Kindle: ...

Mailbox Monday (68)

Good morning y'all!  I hope your Monday is off to a great start.  I'm so ready for this new week.  Last week was a little rough and I'm super behind on everything.  That being said, I'm working on having a good attitude so I can get all caught up.  The hubs and I started the Whole30 yesterday so I feel like I spent all weekend in the kitchen prepping meals so it's kind of nice being at work today.  I linking up with Mailbox Monday today.  I picked up a couple new books last week and I think they all look really good.   For Review (from NetGalley): Daughter of a Thousand Years by Amalia Carosella Anne Boleyn: A King's Obsession by Alison Weir Purchased (for nook): Mademoiselle Chanel by C.W.
