This week's topic is: Top Ten Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me
1.) Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
2.) Feed by Mira Grant
3.) The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
4.) Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran
5.) The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
6.) Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
7.) A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
The above are all books I have been meaning to read for a LONG time and I just have not yet picked up (some of them I even own!!). I hope to get to at least a few of these this fall.
8.) Anything by Sarah Dessen-Please don’t hate me for this. I have read a Sarah Dessen book but it really didn’t do anything for me. I feel like all of the bloggers love her books and there is always someone raving about her so I kind of feel left out.
9.) Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
10.) The Iron King series by Julie Kagawa
These last two are books I have seen around a TON of blogs lately; they seem really popular right now though I don’t really have any desire to read them. Can you convince me otherwise??

I love Cassandra Clare's books and like the historical angle in her prequel series. I am eagerly looking forward to Clockwork Prince.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read The Name of the Wind yet though I recently bought it before I went on vacation (turned out not to be a "vacation read" for me). I have read the first eight chapters as a preview on Amazon and really liked them. I have read Madame Tussaud (really good but not as good as Cleopatra's Daughter for me) and Between Shades of Gray (loved it!). I wanted to try A Game of Thrones but now that it is so popular I will probably wait. I want to get it from the library in case I don't like it but of course there is a huge waiting list now. I should have tried the series years ago when it was first recommended to me!
I am one of those bloggers that likes Sarah Dessen but I know that like all books, hers are not for everyone. :)
I also read and enjoyed Bloodlines but unless you've read the Vampire Academy series I wouldn't read Bloodlines as it contains major spoilers (it is first in a spin off series). As far as The Iron King series, I think you're not missing out on anything. I read them just because I feel like I should finish out the series. To be fair I think book three was better than the first two but you have to put up with a lot of whining and teen angst to get there...
I've only heard of one of those books! #5. Naturally enough I haven't read any.
ReplyDeleteI read/listened to The Pillars of the Earth earlier this year. It is a feat!
