This week's question is: 

Question: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

Honestly, I am getting really sick of series books.  I just want to read a stand alone novel with a good plot, fun characters and an ending with no loose ends.

I also really hate weak female lead characters.  I get tired of the whole "oh I need a man to be happy and to take care of me" story. 

What are your book pet peeves?

    I almost started clapping when I read the last thing you put. I give you a woot for it. I don't see it a whole lot, but I wouldn't like it if I came across it.

    There are so few stand alone books nowadays. Its even more annoying when you think the book has ended and everything is done and then BAM the author stretches the story out a little more. Sometimes its just best to give the story some finality and leave it be.

    I'm so sick of series, too! That was my pet peeve. That's one reason I still read a lot of Adult Contemporary ... there's a lot of stand-alone novels! Happy FF! :)

Mailbox Monday (49)

It's time for another Mailbox Monday post!  Once again I could not resist the cheap ebooks that Amazon and Barnes and Noble were promoting this week.  I really need to stop!  I already have more than I can read.  I also was able to spend a little time browsing at the library and I came home with a nice stack of books.  These days, I hardly ever get to spend time at the library by myself for more than a minute or two so it was wonderful to have time to just wander and see what I could find.
