When I was in elementary school, I loved these:

2.) The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
3.) The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

5.) Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery

When I was very young, I loved these:
1.) Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Suess
2.) Anything by Don and Audrey Wood (Heckedy Peg, Elbert's Bad Word, King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, etc)
3.) Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
4.) Anything by Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit, etc)
5.) Good Night Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

  1. I LOVED the Little House series as a kid. My parents used to read a chapter a night, and I thought they were terrific. I even liked Farmer Boy.

Great picks. I liked Beatrix Potter, too. Mr. MacGregor always scared me silly though!
